Dr. Julie Bonitha Svay, Ph.D. Founder of the Angkor Institute of Consciousness, co-author of I Am Young and Brave: Discover the force to live through hardship and rise stronger. Holistic Psychotherapist, certified resilience trainer and practitioner of intuitive sophro-analysis. Julie is a native Cambodian, educated in France, where she worked as a research geophysicist, leading high-challenge multidisciplinary international projects and teams. Dr. Svay is a former member of the technical steering committee of Geoscientists Without Borders for disaster and humanitarian relief. Her mission, in collaboration with LightRise Childcare Charity, is for healing trans-generational traumas in Cambodia, and to share and enrich our understanding of human being, so as to inspire a greater wisdom in our lives.
For the past 20 years Professor Rachel Larabee has engaged in consulting work in community and post-secondary education to create and implement empowering leadership programming in Global Citizenship and Equity Learning, International Service Learning, Community Economic Development, Academic Upgrading for Indigenous Peoples, and Sustainable Food Education. She is passionate about engaging students and communities in transformative education that promotes social and environmental justice, experiential learning, personal meaning and place making community development work. A life-long learner, Professor Larabee recently completed certification as a Kundalini Yoga Instructor. Early in her career, Rachel Larabee co-founded POR AMOR Community Enhancement Initiatives in 2003, a Canadian Non-Profit Organization created to support youth development and leadership in community through the arts.
