Healing Opportunities in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

Singing

Dancing

Prayer

These are three universal embodied forms of healing that the Congolese practice every Sunday. . .The result is pure joy, and a return to the spirit of resilience amidst the turmoil of DRC politics, poverty, rape, violence, and other ravishes of living with civil war.

As pictures often speak so much louder than words, I am sharing with you photos that represent the resilience of the human spirit which were share with my by Certified Embodied Awareness Facilitators Kim Haxton and Meaghan Farquharson, who cofacilitated training programs for Congolese women healing from the ravishes of civil war violence against women.
